Biography
During my three+ decade career as a psychologist, I have successfully applied behavioral science in diverse academic, clinical and organizational settings –– as a researcher, teacher, clinician, coach, thought leader and change agent. Across settings and roles, my life’s work has been dedicated to improving the well-being and performance of individuals, teams and organizations through the application of psychological models, methods and research findings.
After completing a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Ohio State, I focused on behavioral medicine, teaching and leading a clinical-research program as an Assistant Professor at Duke University Medical Center. My interests shifted from treating problems to preventing them, and so in 1993 I founded a management consulting firm (JordanWorks). I have personally coached thousands of leaders (from entry-level to CEO) on three continents and have been the lead architect of organizational effectiveness strategies and programs implemented in 118 countries.
My teaching brings psychological science to life through guided experiential learning and practical application. A proud Dartmouth alumnus (Class of 1978 psychology major, Senior Fellow, marching band leader), I am thrilled to be back on campus, skilled to inspire and challenge today’s students to recognize and realize their full potential.
