Members of associate professor Luke Chang's COSAN Lab created a python toolbox called py-feat, to analyze facial expressions.
Dr. Chang reports that py-feat "is one of the only open-source toolboxes that incorporates computer vision models to detect different aspects of facial expressions, along with tools to preprocess, analyze, and visualize the results".
The creation of py-feat was led by graduate students and postdocs, Jin Cheong, Eshin Jolly, and Tiankang Xie, and featured additional contributions from two Dartmouth undergrads, Sophie Byrne and Matthew Kenney.
"Py-Feat: Python Facial Expression Analysis Toolbox" was published in Springer.
