The Neukom Institute for Computational Science has awarded Assistant Professor Mark Thornton a 2022-2023 CompX Faculty Grant. This competitive grant program provides funding for Dartmouth College faculty in the development of novel computational techniques.
In Thornton's project proposal, he writes, "By combining state-of-the-art models for detecting body pose, facial expressions, and speech characteristics, we will map out the space of possible groups states in a data-driven way." Read about his winning project, "Data-Driven Discovery and Capture of Collective Human Group States," on the Neukom website here.
