What catches your eye in new places could identify you.  Walk into a crowded coffee shop, and the very first thing your eyes land on could reveal something as personal as your fingerprint.  New research shows that eye movements are distinctive enough to identify a person, based purely on which objects carry personal meaning to them.

The study raises fresh questions about just how much we’re giving away in a world of constant digital surveillance.

The research was led by Caroline Robertson, professor of psychological and brain sciences at Dartmouth College.
